WHAT IS FW?

MO/VF/FW (Mujeres Olvidadas/Forgotten Women) was born in the heart of the Spanish-speaking community in Munich as a bilingual feminist initiative on the occasion of 8 March 2021.

Through this project we want to rescue from oblivion and anonymity those women who will never appear in the history books, although they are fundamental pillars of our society and key figures in history.

MO/VF/FW aims to change a historical discourse written by and for men, to shape a positive image of women and to build, normalise and strengthen our own perception of the female universe outside the male perspective; that is why it is important that this project is carried out "from woman to woman".

To this end, we have appealed to the creativity and collaboration of all women and girls, of any age, social status or academic level, because we want to offer them all the opportunity to be authors and protagonists of this initiative, which is based on texts written by themselves, in which the value of another woman is recognised.

Through this mutual recognition, the authors show humility and respect for other women and contribute to making visible the important role we anonymous women play as the invisible axis of the society.

We want to publish the texts in book form on the occasion of 8 March 2022 and to use the benefits from the sale to support associations that help migrant women and victims of mistreatment or sexual abuse.

Together we can turn this initiative into an international example and a global phenomenon that goes beyond 8M and grows year after year.

Any suggestions or support regarding the publication of the project on paper will be welcome and, of course, we open the door to all those language professionals who would like to collaborate selflessly as proofreaders, editors, illustrators or translators, as our intention is to extend this project also outside the Spanish and German-speaking world.
